Ali Club Minutes of Annual General Beer Gathering held on 27th October 2025 at 8.30pm Ye Olde Whyte Lyon Present: Captain Pete Mick Vic Ojal John Apologies: Neal Bazza Saint
1. Endorsement of minutes from 12th May 2025 Beer Gathering:- Ø The minutes of the May Beer Gathering were proposed as a correct record of that gathering by John and seconded by Mick as a fine record of that event. 2. Confirmation of Officers:- Ø Agreed in May 2010 that the existing officers would be automatically re-instated infinitely, unless opposed. Nobody else put themselves forward at the gathering. Officers are therefore confirmed as follows: - Honorary Treasurer - John; - Honorary General Secretary - Pete; - Honorary Handicap Secretary:- Neal; - Honorary Dealer - Bazza 3. Ratification of Captain Elect Ø Pete was ratified as Captain unopposed 4. Captain Pete's 2026 Tour Update :- Ø Pete has already booked the tour and paid deposits - a return to Dale Hill for the third time. Ø The cost is £435 for those sharing a room and there will a supplement if we end up having a single. . Ø Eight of us going on Tour so 4 twin rooms have been booked. Ø Only rooms available were suites but it is our 30th Anniversary so we deserve a treat. Ø Tee time:- - Friday 22 May 12.40pm - Woosnan Course - White, Blue and Grey block shirt - Saturday 23rd May 11.50am - Old Course - New shirt, colour to be determined - Sunday 24th May 11.50am - Woosnan Course - Mainly Grey shirt Ø 4 Buggies have been booked for each day 5. New Tour Shirts Ø Agreed to have a new 30th Anniversary Tour shirt Ø Sizes: 5 LARGE - Pete, Saint, Neal, Bazza, Mick. 3 X LARGE - Ojal, John, Vic ACTION - Pete to talk to Gazza to source logo and potentially shirts 6. Treasurers Report :- Ø John reported that our current bank balance is £3,028 but this includes monies owed to Oj for last year which John will refund. Basically, we carried forward £50 each from last year makig a total buffer of c.£150 per person. Ø We are all now on £55 per month except: - Bazza who is £90 in credit (+£150 c/f) so will owe £570 by tour and - Neil who owes £90 from last year (to be transferred to John now) but has no carry forward. Suggested Neal goes onto standing order as no more overseas trips will take place. Otherwise Neal will also need to pay £660 before we go away and probably more see below. Ø Last Tour we spent £612 each but this was after taking 20% discount off food and drink and not paying out one 2 NTP (£25) and the 2s pot (£60). Given the increased Tour cost this year and a shirt, John estimates the cost of This Year's tour to be close to £800 pp. This will be covered by our £660 plus carry forward but from May we should probably increase our SOs to £70 a month. Neal you should therefore budget to pay John £800 before tour. Actions:- John to refund Ojal now - Neal to transfer £90 to John now - Closer to Tour, Neal to transfer £800 (or see below) and Bazza £570 to John - Neal to set up a SO of say £115 from Nov (7 * £115 = £805 by tour) and reduce to £70 in June - All to increase SOs to £70 next June, maybe Bazza to set up one then too. 7. Trophy Engraving Update:- Main Trophy - Mick - Committed to action before February Beer Gathering Hawaii Cup - Neal - Done Swingers Trophy - Mick - Committed to action before February Beer Gathering Old Zimmer Man Trophy - John - Committed to action before February Beer Gathering 8. 30th Anniversary Dinner Update:- Ø Bazza has received most responses to the invite and will chase the remainder and then communicate an update. Bill, Gazza, James and the Simmons' have declined. 9. Future dates for your diary Ø 23rd February 2026, 8.30pm - Beer Gathering, Tour Update, Draw for Partners Ø 11th May 2026, 8.30pm - Beer Gathering, Handicaps Ø 22nd to 24th May 2026 - Ali Club 30th Annual Tour to Dale Hill III Ø 13th June 2026 - 30th Anniversary Ali Club Dinner, venue tbc 10.
